I am not a Christian. I have been Agnostic for almost six months, but I’ve just recently gained the courage to tell that to the world. I was worried I’d lose respect, friends, and maybe even the job at a Christian summer camp I work at every year.

In the end, everyone still loved and accepted me. I was slightly alienated from my church, but aside from that, life went on as normal, minus the huge burden on my chest.

The one person I couldn’t get myself to tell was my mom. Mom, being highly religious, would be worried sick for me. She would pray and cry almost constantly for days. I know this because that was her response to my brother telling her he was Atheist. And so, she doesn’t know about my choice in Religion; or lack thereof.
