Even a cursory review of Scripture, makes it crystal clear that Yahweh God has a serious problem with sin (I say serious in the sense that He does not view sin from a light-hearted or frivolous perspective–He is dead serious). As a result, it becomes a serious problem for us as well, whether we are willing to admit it or not. We have “missed the mark” of what God expects and demands, and if something is not done about it, the consequences are lethal. Furthermore, we simply do not have the where-with-all to deal appropriately with that sinfulness. It is a great blessing that we are not left to ourselves to stumble around in the dark. God makes known His mind – and heart in regard to sin and other vital realities associated with it.

Those acquainted with the giving of the Mt. Sinai covenant by the hand of Moses, understand just how detailed and exacting that law was. A cursory reading of Exodus, Leviticus and Numbers along with other Old Testament passages makes this abundantly clear. Very little, if any thing was left unsaid, or to chance. Two or three examples might suffice: The description of the tabernacle, the materials that went into it and the processes involved in its building, in addition to who was to be responsible for its maintenance and transport, etc. were precise.
