Christian Professor Fired for Endorsing Evolution

There are many issues and topics that divide the Christian community, not the least of which being evolution. While many believe the Genesis account is entirely accurate, others believe it is more open to interpretation, that there might just be enough room in Christian theology for evolution.

Bruce K. Waltke, an evangelical scholar and theologian, believes the latter, and he addressed this in a video which has gotten him into considerably hot water. His views upset those in authority at the Reformed Theological Seminary campus in Orlando, Florida – where Waltke was professor – that he was let go from his position earlier this week.

The video was hosted on the website for the BioLogos Foundation, which, according to an article in the USA Today, is “a group that promotes the idea that science and faith need not be incompatible.” At the request of seminary officials, the video was removed, but the damage was already done.
