Systems Need to be Grounded

When I was fifteen, I bought an old car for $50. I learned a lot working on that old Plymouth. I eventually got it running, but it wasn’t reliable. One day it just wouldn’t start even though the battery was charged, there was gas in the tank and everything seemed fine. My father came out into the garage and looked under the hood. He pointed out that the ground wire wasn’t connected to the coil. Once I did that and got back behind the steering wheel, that old car started immediately! Dad knew that electrical systems need to be grounded to work.
And that’s the way love works in our lives. The Bible says, “If we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.” God’s love fills us up and enables us to pass on that love to others. We are grounded in his love and the circuit is complete!
