Rejected by Others

Michelangelo was one of the world’s most magnificent artists. He was an architect, a sculptor and a painter. His famous works include the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel and statues of Moses and David.
Michelangelo was known for choosing large pieces of marble with discolorations and flaws. It was said that he could see the finished masterpiece inside the flawed stone and felt it was his calling to let it out. He created his masterpieces out of marble rejected by other sculptors.
The Bible refers to Jesus as “The living stone – rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him.” Many in Bible times, as well as today, rejected Jesus. They said he was flawed; while in reality, he’s the living stone – chosen by God and precious to him.
