Cornerstones

Cornerstones are thought of as commemorative stones, often containing a time capsule to be opened in a hundred years. The cornerstone is laid in a dedication ceremony at the completion of a building. But originally, a cornerstone had an architectural function. It had perfect right angles and was the first stone to be set. It became the basis for the entire building and every stone or brick that was laid was aligned with the cornerstone. If the cornerstone was perfectly square, the rest of the building was in alignment. But if the cornerstone was crooked, then everything was out of alignment.
The Bible refers to Jesus as the cornerstone of history. He’s the standard of truth and the basis for everything that God is doing in the world. And when we make Jesus our cornerstone, our lives can be aligned with him.

LeCrae and team;
Just want to encourage you that your message reaches beyond the young to the ‘old’ like me! My sons who are 20 and 25 started listening to your music last year. I have never been a fan of rap – although I can appreciate almost any style of music, I’m admittedly a child of the 70′s and prefer good old rock and roll. As a christian family we have enjoyed all kinds of music, and I really appreciate it when there is a solid message to the song. Rap has never resonated with me because so much of it carries a message that drips with selfishness, pride, and downright lewdness. When I heard your music because my son (who is a worship leader) recommended it – immediately I heard you using this style of music to not only worship but to preach the word of God. Bless you for having the courage to use the talent that God has given you to communicate so effectively. I have a couple of your CDs on my MP3 and get inspired while I’m working out at the gym or around the yard. I pray that God will continue to give you boldness to shout from the house tops the message the world needs to hear. Even a (youngish…) 50-something gets it!
