“Just because the world and its economy may be on hold, doesn’t mean we are. The needs of these young men are too valuable.”

– Korey Dean Sr., Founder

The Man Up Club, a non-profit mentor leadership organization has responded to the COVID-19 pandemic by offering virtual mentor sessions via Zoom, weekly for African-American young men between the ages of 12-24 in need of counseling and mentorship. With only 20 spots being offered on a weekly basis, surprisingly they fill up fast with young men eager to discuss life ‘s challenges, empowerment topics, and participate in a trauma healing session. 80 percent of the young men are fatherless and look forward to the weekly engagement. The Man Up Club currently serves the Twin Cites, but looks to offer the session nationally and on an ongoing basis.

. This weekly session is free as a rapid response to the COVID-19 pandemic. .
