Dry skin is a pretty common problem and can affect anyone “at any age and for many reasons,” according to the American Academy of Dermatology. The winter months are especially notorious for causing dry skin, due to factors like lower humidity and a drop in the temperature, which causes the water in our skin to evaporate a lot quicker.

In most cases, a simple moisturizer, like lotion, will do the trick. But I’ve put together a list of items that target specific areas like the face, nails, and lips, that will take you from ashy to classy all season long.

For Your Face

If you’ve noticed that your face is lacking that usual glow, then now’s the time to restore it! Try using a gentle cleanser and following up with a mild facial scrub. I like Palmer’s new coconut sugar facial scrub. It gently exfoliates dead skin cells, while the richness of (Fair Trade) coconut oil hydrates your skin at the same time. You can’t beat that.

For Your Body

As I mentioned, colder temperatures can really dry out your skin and cause that awkward all-over itching. But too much heat can cause the same problem. That’s why it’s best to limit your exposure to hot water in the shower this time of year in order to avoid its drying affects. Immediately towel off after showering, and follow up with an ultra-moisturizing body oil (like this Skin-So-Soft Bath Oil) that is rich in emollients like jojoba. This is sure to return your skin’s softness and make it supple all season long.

For Your Lips

You may already be using masks on your face, but have you considered using them on your lips? They are all the rage in South Korea right now, thanks to the K-Beauty wave, and for good reason, too. This one is collagen-infused so it not only keeps your lips plump, but moisturizes them as well! Gently rub your lips with a dry wash cloth to remove peeling skin, drink a glass of water, and then apply it.

If you want to skip the collagen, grab a six-pack of the Burt’s Bees 100% Natural Moisturizing Lip Mask on Amazon.

For Your Nails

For dry hands and cracked cuticles I recommend this cuticle therapy creme from Orly. It moisturizes and conditions skin, while stimulating overall nail growth. The powerful antioxidants vitamins A & E are also great for using on your elbows and feet.

For Your Beard

And for the fellas out there dealing with that excessive beard itch this season, I feel your pain. Beard conditioning oil from SheaMoisture Men’s line has the solution. Their beard conditioning oil is maracuja-infused with shea oil to soften and condition facial hair, and moisturize dry facial skin in the process.

Here’s a quick review of the products mentioned above, plus a lotion recommendation:
