In his new single, “Be Original,” he speaks boldly on being an independent artist who actively seeks God and questions other artists who claim to be trendsetters, yet blindly follow pop culture. The instrumentation of the song reflects this theme; trap drums and 808’s establish the heartbeat of the melodic tune lead by a cello. If his intention was to create a persona of being original by rapping, producing, writing, mixing and mastering the track himself while blending polarizing instruments cohesively, it was definitely well executed. This may be your first time hearing about Luke Wynn, but if this single is a foreshadow of what he has in store, it is not farfetched to say that as long as he continues to allow God to lead him, this is not the last we will hear of him.
