Leah James- Let Him In

This piece is so unapologetically open. I love how Leah turns pain on its head and promotes Christ above her own suffering. Her delivery is intimate and very palpable.  If our lives are not our own then it stands to reason that the things we suffer are not for us either.  It is manifested in her work that she is richer and wiser for her profound pain. This piece is the sum of her experience interwoven with the gospel. Her honesty is transcendent. It is what we look for in poetry. Her transparency with us is not a trickle it is a flood. I’ve had the privilege of seeing this sister Minister live. Her poetry has her blood in it. But more importantly, it has the blood of Christ!

After hearing this piece I want to “let him in “ again.
