Snoop Dogg was recently in a setting most wouldn’t expect him to be in.

The legendary hip-hop artist performed at the BET Presents 19th Annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration (also ft. Donnie McClurkin, Erica Campbell, Ann Nesby) at Bethel University on February 1 in Minnesota.

On February 2, 2018, Snoop released five new songs, which happen to be Gospel. Believe it or not, the Long Beach, California-born emcee has announced that he is dropping a Gospel album titled ‘Snoop Dogg Presents The Bible of Love’ (32-track double album). His new project is expected to hit stores on March 16, 2018. Features include Faith Evans, Tye Tribbett, The Clark Sisters, and B Slade, among others. The 5 tracks he dropped from the project are below.

If you’re in shock and can’t believe what you’re seeing and hearing, DJ Will (who is a part of the Jam The Hype team), was at the BET Presents 19th Annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration. He took a picture with the multi-platinum rapper (Interview coming soon?). Stay tuned for more.

With that being said, Jam The Hype isn’t saying Snoop Dogg is an artist you should listen to (we’re aware of his past music and name change to Snoop Lion). We aren’t claiming he is saved or not saved. We are simply reporting that Snoop Dogg, a hip-hop legend, is creating Gospel music. This information should stimulate thought on how we should respond to celebrities making proclamations of salvation and creating Christian music. Below are some social media reactions (not all are faith-based perspectives) to Snoop Dogg crafting Gospel music.

Is Snoop Dogg saved? Is he now a Christian artist? Are his motives good or evil? I don’t have the answers to those questions. God does though. Only thing I can tell you is this, PRAY! The reason being, is the culture seems to be open to talking about Jesus Christ. What are we going to do with these opportunities to communicate the Gospel?

PRAY. Sound off in the comment section!
