On May 4, 2011 christian rapper Jovan Mackenzy took to his blog and posted an open letter to Lecrae and Reach Records titled “The Erosion of the Reformed Rapper! Part 1” (you can view the letter in it’s entirety below). In the letter Jovan expressed to Lecrae that he believes he has strayed from his bold and unashamed “116” stance as it pertains to music and ministry. Needless to say, the letter sparked much controversy, debate and dialogue.
Are Jovan’s concerns valid? Was making matters public the right thing to do? Well, C.E. Moore of The Christian Manifesto (he’s on a roll) caught up with Jovan for an in depth interview to discuss it. What’s your take? View the letter and hear the interview (66 minutes) after the jump.

Hi, this weekend is nice in favor of me, as this time i am reading this great educational article here at my home.
Hiphop has long decried police brutality along with the hyperpolicing of areas that were black.
Your style is unique as compared to others I actually have read stuff from.
Many thanks for posting when you have the means, Guess I’ll just book mark this
web site.
