Many men today find themselves in the role of step-father. Being a step-father is challenging; but, at the same time, it can be one of the highest callings a man can have. It’s the opportunity to shape a life brought to you by God rather than through birth.

Joseph was not a step-father by choice. He was drafted by God. In the Bible it says, “Now Jesus himself was about 30 years old when he began his ministry. He was the son, so it was thought, of Joseph.”

People around Joseph assumed that he was the father of Jesus. And when they saw the stunning character and integrity of Jesus, it reflected not only the work of God in his life, but the impact of Joseph.

If you are a step-father, never underestimate your influence. Think of Joseph – God used him to help shape the life of Jesus!
