Right Here, Right Now

One time it was my privilege to visit the White House for a meeting. I had to reluctantly surrender my attaché case to a security guard before I could go in. When the guard peeled my fingers off the handle and took the case from me, he said in a reassuring way, “Sir, please understand that if there is any place in the world where your case is safe, it is right here, right now.”

And that’s the way we are with God. The Bible promises, “The peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” If there’s any place in the world where we are safe, it’s in the hands of God right here, right now. Though surrounded by threats of evil, bad circumstances or political unrest, we are completely safe with God. He’s the total basis for our personal peace.
