Hope is a universal human need. Hope is the fuel to keep us going. It’s the imagination to look beyond the bad things and see good in the future. As long as we hold onto hope, it’s amazing what we can do. People can make it through wars, disease, broken dreams and more. They not only can survive the worst this world can dole out, but they can even flourish – as long as they have hope.

The Bible says, “Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”

Ironically, hope grows out of discontent. If we’re completely satisfied with the way things are, then there’s no need for hope. It’s the pain and disappointments of life that give birth to hope. Hope always looks to the future.

God designed us to get through today by anticipating tomorrow. God wants us to have hope!
