Quiet Confidence (James 4:5)
Once I get one whiff
I’ll need more of it.
I like that it’s stuck to me
constantly,
Whether I’m wet with sweat
Or arid like the Sahara.
I love the scent
Of confidence,
But hate the stench of cockyness.
So I was initially going to title this:
“Born to Outperform,”
but that title needed some reform.
I am reflecting on James 4:5
Because I’ve been grappling pride
Inside.
Then I stepped off of the platform
That James 4
And many more (Psalm 101:5, Proverbs 16:5, 18, 25)
Deplore.
Step off that high horse
And worship on the floor.
There is a thin, fine
Red line
Between it, cockyness,
And overassertiveness
Which all repel me
and my extrovert personality.
Basically, I need to guard my heart
Because alone I can’t subdue my pride.
I am so at peace
After reading
1 Peter 4:9
that it’s the time to
reveal my diary…
publicly.
So let it be understood
That I feel reassured by leaning on my Father
and my Christ-centered brotherhood
Rep AGO til’ I die
And become alive in Christ.
Sincerely,

Amazing… Read a few lines, and I’m already blessed. #Turnt †
